Key Accountabilities include:
- Perform a peer review role for transport infrastructure planning and design projects, providing expert advice and participation in value engineering exercises / risk workshops with the intent of ensuring acceptability to departmental standards, adding value where possible.
- Provide authoritative and specialist advice on the development, maintenance and deployment of departmental road design policies, standards, guidelines, procedures and systems including Extended Design Domain in order to ensure their appropriate use to achieve fit for purpose solutions and to minimise the risk of potential future liability in the face of a continually changing operating environment.
- As a Senior Designer (civil), you will work closely with internal and external customers on projects providing specialist road design advice to peer reviews for major transport infrastructure projects across the state.
- Providing input to the review and development of relevant transport infrastructure technical policies, standards, and guidelines for TMR, including Austroads and Standards Australia.
- Contribute to the development of effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.
- Analyse and review complex design models and outputs, providing expert advice to various stakeholders in the successful completion of transport infrastructure projects.
Mandatory requirements:
- A Sydney Accord accredited three-year degree in Engineering, or recognised equivalence.
