AddressSenior Development Manager
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Development Manager to join their team. This full-time, permanent role, based in Brisbane, is essential for leading the development of Renewable Energy projects in Australia, focusing on solar and BESS projects. The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $230,000.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Coordination
- Responsible for the overall delivery of Solar and BESS projects through to construction phase
- Coordinate internal global teams (Engineering & Construction, Environment & Planning, Finance, Legal, HSE, Community Relations)
- Manage external consultants to facilitate project development
- Manage projects to budget and agreed timelines
- Ensure successful stakeholder and community relations
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across procurement, budgeting, project tracking, and investment approvals processes
Development Strategy and Assessment
- Collaborate with technology leads and origination manager on feasibility assessments
- Provide accurate and timely strategic assessments on land, permitting, grid connection, procurement, and risk
- Manage development issues with appropriate stakeholders
- Maintain relationships with local, state, and federal Government staff, including AEMO and respective NSPs
- Prepare project reports on progress, budget, schedule, issues, risk, and opportunity
- Attend community events and discuss key development considerations
- Liaise with landowners and neighbours regarding development matters
- Monitor development legislation and regulations
Landholder Liaison and Negotiations
- Develop and maintain productive landowner relationships from initiation to construction handover
- Negotiate tenure documents with legal counsel support to secure all land required for the project
- Manage and implement tenure agreement processes
Commercial Development
- Assess the technical and commercial viability of projects
- Identify acquisition opportunities
- Coordinate the development of project reports and investment cases
