We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Pilbara Energy Systems team. Based in Perth the successful candidate will be required to travel to the Pilbara asset sites as required for planned and unplanned activities.
Reporting to the Head of Pilbara Energy Operations, you will be responsible for the Electrical Engineering and technical leadership associated with the full lifecycle of power generation, energy storage, transmission and distribution networks and related power infrastructure. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with the technical standards required to lead and drive the Electrical Engineering discipline within the engineering team. This includes being the subject matter expert relating to our HV Generating assets and associated electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering risk management of electrical equipment and systems of our existing and new power generation assets. These include large / medium generators, power transformers, excitation systems, DC systems, HV & LV switchgears and their associated protection systems
- Assess and support the appointment of operations team to specific high voltage operational roles.
- Act as the technical authority/SME for the business in terms of Electrical Engineering
- Manage the development, documentation, maintenance and the delivery of the asset management systems that are appropriate for the electrical discipline
- In conjunction with the operational sites develop, document and communicate the asset management plans so as to ensure the asset management plans are aligned with and meet the Power Generation strategic requirement
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years post-graduation engineering work experience
- NER Professional Engineer status and relevant professional membership preferred
