Senior Financial Accountant

The Role:

As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role being actively involved in all aspects of daily financial activities, overseeing the financial operations and strategies of our business. This hands-on position requires a blend of problem-solving skills, detail-oriented analysis, and a passion for diving deep into financial structures and processes. You will be at the forefront of reviewing and enhancing our financial systems and processes, with a particular focus on leveraging the Yardi Property Management system to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

The role is a hands-on role requiring experience and insights into lease management, outgoings recovery, management of lease properties and properties on behalf of property owners. The role requires and experience and understanding of amongst other things:

a) Property Management, 

b) Lease Management, 

c) Outgoings Management, 

d) Reconciliation 

e) Reporting monthly and End of Year

f) Tax 

g) Division 7a Loans 

h) Unpaid Present Entitlements 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough reviews and audits of our current business operations, including reconciliations, financial reviews, and ensuring all accounts are current and accurately maintained.
• Lead and mentor a dedicated finance team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Work closely with the CFO and stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's objectives.
• Actively review and enhance financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
• Ideally, leverage expertise in property management platforms, particularly the Yardi Property Management system, to optimize financial management within our property portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, maintaining impeccable records and documentation.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, with substantial experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations within the property sector, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with the Yardi Property Management system.
• A proven track record of problem-solving and an ability to dissect and understand complex financial details.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with experience leading and developing a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with CFOs, stakeholders, and team members alike.
• A proactive approach to reviewing and enhancing systems and processes, with a keen eye for efficiency and optimization.
