Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity, based at our Yarraville VIC head office. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, as well as maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing accruals, prepayments, and month-end journals to maintain accurate financial records.
- Chairing monthly overhead meetings with business unit managers to discuss financial performance and forecasts.
- Assisting in forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning for overheads and depreciation.
- Collaborating with the finance team to prepare monthly financial reporting packs and capital-related reports.
- Managing the SAP lease process and ensuring timely completion of financial tasks.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors for annual audits and statutory accounts preparation.
- Engaging proactively with stakeholders to address financial queries and providing insights for decision-making processes.
- Driving operational efficiencies by refining reporting processes and implementing improvements where necessary.
What we're wanting you to bring to the table:
This role is ideally suited for someone with strong financial reporting and project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent stakeholder management abilities.
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- CA or CPA accreditation (or working towards it).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an accounting or finance role. Ideal for a first-time mover from Big 4 firms.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with financial reporting systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
