About the role

This role will provide a high level of financial accounting support to the Finance Manager. The Senior Financial Accountant will assist the Finance Manager to provide leadership and oversight of the central financial management and reporting function to ensure effective management of financial resources and budgets. This will include financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

Your key duties:

• Maintain CPA Australia's fixed asset register and the annual review of fixed assets.
• Support the capital acquisitions process and reconciling project expenditure
• Maintain CPA Australia's lease schedules in accordance with AASB 16
• Drive efficiencies and process improvements within the organisation, continually reviewing and improving processes.
• Assist with the provision of timely, accurate and insightful financial and commercial management information to meet the business needs across all areas of the business.
• Support statutory and other compliance matters (external audit, internal audit, tax, company secretarial)
• Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of the annual group integrated report
• Processing month end journals including accruals
• Preparation/review of balance sheet reconciliations (including overseas locations)
• Establish strong and trusted working relationships with business leaders to understand and support their needs; support them in developing a commercial mindset and inform their strategic decisions making processes.

About you

• CPA/CA qualified with a solid background in financial accounting and high level of technical experience in accounting and financial reporting in a large or complex organization with foreign currencies
• Strong experience with fixed assets and lease accounting
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 software
• An ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable in a team based environment and have a high level of initiative and a proactive, forward-thinking attitude
