The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant that will provide a range of accounting activities such as financial analysis, financial performance monitoring, preparation of month-end and year-end reporting and analysis. The role will develop and implement plans and policies to improve financial capability and the University's ability to respond to complex financial management issues, trends and opportunities.

The Senior Financial Accountant will manage a range of complex financial management activities and coordinate a work environment of continuous review and improvement activities. The role will provide advice on risk issues with assets reporting and will oversee capital projects. The Senior Financial Accountant will oversee actions to support business decision-making and will prepare relevant submissions to the University Committees where required.

The Senior Financial Accountant will have accounting qualifications in business or accounting, with current CA/CPA accreditation, or extensive experience and management expertise. Strong people management skills and substantial experience and capabilities in statutory reporting are required for success in this role. The successful candidate will have current knowledge of accounting legislation, demonstrated financial skills and experience managing staff.
