Senior Financial Accountant

At Bega Group, the way we monitor, report, and analyse our lease agreements across the group is crucial for our budget, forecasting, and financial results. We are now looking for our new Senior Financial Accountant to step into this vital role and demonstrate fantastic knowledge and experience in the accounting space.

This includes generating reports, such as month-end close activities, P&L analysis, and accurate forecasting and budget preparation for Bega Group across all sites.

You will support the accountants within the team and act as their SME with technical and problem-solving skills.

Please note that this is a 12-month maternity leave cover.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including month-end close, GL reconciliation, and journal entries utilising various systems.
• Lead financial accounting across key areas, such as AASB 16 compliance, provisions, fixed assets, and other technical accounting areas as required.
• Prepare lease accounting entries and establish robust procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and be the subject expertise in Lease Accounting Software LOIS.
• Provide monthly insights for divisional reporting, including detailed P&L analysis of key focus areas.
• Support the development of frameworks for financial control, including developing and maintaining the Group's accounting policies and procedures.

• A bachelor's degree in business, Commerce, Accounting, CA, or CPA is a requirement.
• A solid, relevant experience, preferably within an ASX-listed company, within FMCG or Big 4/mid-tier experience
• Sound knowledge of accounting and reporting systems (LOIS software will be an advantage) and solid knowledge of AASB16 is crucial to this role.
• High-level analytical skills, strong communication skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to simplify reporting and financial data to all levels of stakeholders and fantastic collaboration skills.
