Based at our HQ in Eagle Farm, we are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to support the Global Finance team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Accountant will play an integral role within a wider Finance Team that supports a global retail & Ecommerce network. You will provide support to the Finance function via financial reporting, and general accounting and compliance duties. This role has amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to gain Global exposure and growth within an innovative and entrepreneurial business! This role will lead a small team of two and support with their learning and development.
Major areas of responsibility will include:
- Completing group general ledger and account reconciliations, including investigation and clearing of reconciling items.
- Assisting in month-end and year-end reporting and compliance deadlines are consistently met.
- Manage the completion of stock, vendor and customer reconciliations accurately and within the required timeframes.
- Reviewing GST/VAT/sales Tax reconciliations, lodgements and payments for global governing bodies.
- Liaising with external accountants to complete audit requirements and income tax obligations.
- Support the wider Finance Team providing relevant team members with continuous coaching and task-related feedback.
- Assist the continuous implementation of finance systems and enhance processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
You will ideally have
- 5+ years’ experience in an Accounting or Finance related role
- Must have industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CA/CPA qualification
- Experience with managing a team of junior accountants
You will be experienced in monitoring and analysing financial reports to identify variances, with a high level of attention to detail. You employ advanced Excel skills in your day to day and have a results-oriented mindset. You are effective in your communication and have excellent rapport building skills. You enjoy working within a fast-paced team environment with previous exposure to global accounting and taxation compliance is an advantage.
Experience working within retail and exposure to NetSuite is highly regarded. This role will see you working within a global retailer, with footprints in Australia, China, New Zealand, Singapore, United States of America among others.
