Responsibilities
As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, overseeing and enhancing our financial operations. Reporting into the Finance Manager your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance;
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards;
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and provide financial forecasts and insights to support decision-making;
- Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion;
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and improve efficiency;
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic planning and resource allocation; and
- Mentor and support junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred;
- Minimum of 5 of progressive experience in financial accounting roles;
- Experience working in the not-for-profit or education sector strongly preferred; and
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP a plus.
