Senior Fire & Hydraulic Engineer

Design & Build Recruitment are currently assisting a growing Building Services Consultancy in their search for a Senior Fire & Hydraulic Engineer. Based in Melbourne, the position will be responsible for leading and delivering a range of fire and hydraulic projects.
The company are seeking an individual with significant local experience, exceptional fire and hydraulic technical expertise, and strong collaboration skills with clients and business partners. The responsibilities and requirements of the role have been listed below:
Responsibilities

• Provide detailed designs for fire and hydraulics, including hot & cold water, sanitary plumbing & drainage, storm water drainage, gas services, fire services, domestic wastewater treatment systems.
• Lead project involvement throughout all phases (tender preparation, design delivery and construction support).
• Direct client engagement including design meetings and site inspections.
• Communicate effectively with external stakeholders including architects, interior designers, developers, contractors, other services consultants, local authorities and councils.
• Mentor and coach junior team members when necessary.

Requirements

• 8+ years building services experience in Australia, preferably in an engineering consultancy.
• Extensive experience with complex hydraulic and fire services.
• Registered Chartered Engineer.
• Significant client-facing experience.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Solid understanding of relevant Australian Standards and National Code of Construction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Technological understanding of Revit/AutoCAD, BIM360, HYENA and Microsoft Suite.
