Job Description:We currently have an exciting opportunity for a
Senior GIS Data Analyst to join our team. This position will support the Spotless Defence Contract for delivery of Estate Maintenance and Operations Services (EMOS) to the Department of Defence QLD and SNSW Regions.You will be responsible for preparing
GIS Data, Defence Estate Master Plans and Defence Building Spatial Plans for the support of multiple service lines within the EMOS. The position also has the responsibility for the management and operation of the contract GIS and management with data integrity in the delivery of planning and spatial products and services.
Responsibilities:The role has a broad remit, with key responsibilities outlined below:
- Provide a high standard of service to the Australian Defence Force (the customer) and is monitored by Defence Estate and Infrastructure Group (the client) to ensure we maintain these standards.
- Support multiple service lines in managing and updating Estate Master Plans, Spatial and Building Plans, metadata and Land Management and Capability services. WMS Estate Data supporting these services is also integral to this role.
- Responsible for the operations of the contract Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and direct interface as a Trusted User into Defence National Spatial Information system.
- Collection, analysis and application of field based data collection and information provided through various third parties including Project Delivery Services (MSP) and Commonwealth Facilities and Infrastructure Branch (CFI) for major works on the Defence Bases.
- Ensure accuracy of the data and supporting metadata before submitted it to load into the DEIS.
Qualifications:What you'll bring- A tertiary, or equivalent vocational qualification in GIS.
- Ability to obtain and retain a Defence security clearance (Australian Citizenship Mandatory)
- Workforce experience with the ArcGIS and AutoCAD platform and products.
- Skills and knowledge of Defence NSIMS system and Defence derived Metadata (preferred)
- Experience interpreting and developing map products.
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills with an excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications in particular Word, Excel and Outlook.
