Find out how this role could work for you.Period of employment / Hours:Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP for a period of 12 months.Location:Homes Tasmania - Government Relations and Strategic Policy - Housing Policy and Programs - Statewide**** Specific work location to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Duties:Primary Purpose / Focus :This is a senior officer role within the Housing Policy and Programs branch, requiring strong experience in strategic policy development and demonstrated ability to think critically with excellent analytical, conceptual, research, writing, and personal management skills to provide evidence-based high-level advice about Tasmania's housing and homelessness system.The Senior Housing Advisor, as part of the Government Relations and Strategic Policy unit, will help inform the development of strategic housing policy for recommendation to senior management, the Homes Tasmania Board, Department of Premier and Cabinet, government agencies and policy colleagues across Australia and provide advice on strategic housing matters.Skills and experience :Selection criteria includes:

• Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative, specialist and effective advice to senior executives and colleagues on relevant issues across the spectrum of their responsibilities.
• Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of housing and homelessness policies, including an understanding of the complex social and economic factors that impact on Tasmania's housing market and the development of affordable housing options, together with the provision of housing and homelessness services.
• Highly developed time management skills, with demonstrated ability to work quickly under pressure, often according to complex rules and procedures, and be adaptive to change.

Desirable Requirements:

• Current Driver's Licence.
• Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study from a recognised tertiary institution.
