- Salary commencing at $106,194 per annum plus 11% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
The Opportunity
Positioned within Council's People and Culture department, this role will see you partnering with the organisation to provide specialist Human Resources advice, consultancy and support across Council.
To be successful in this role you will be a driven, strategic thinking and conscientious individual who is keen to join a team whose goal is to build the capability of our people and organisation for the future. You will be comfortable working in a busy environment and driving activities to completion.
Responsibilities
Partnering with management and your People & Culture colleagues, you will also utilise your broad generalist experience to support your business portfolio, with responsibilities including (and not limited to):
- The provision of professional, business-focused people, performance and culture services and support to a designated business portfolio.
- The provision of accurate and specialist HR support to employees and management.
- Leading and/or assisting with HR projects, including but not limited to the implementation of HR policies, procedures, systems and processes.
- The provision of specialist advice in regard to Council's Enterprise Agreement, conditions of employment, legislative requirements and the application of sound HR practices.
- Facilitating induction and training sessions as required.
- Coaching and enabling managers for all aspects of people management, specifically in driving performance. You will also coach and mentor other talented HR colleagues.
- Analysing trends and metrics in partnership with the People and Culture team and contributing to development of solutions, programs, and policies.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in a relevant HR discipline along with some relevant experience in HR or lesser qualification with substantial experience in a similar role.
- Experience gained in a generalist HR role within a diverse organisational environment.
- Demonstrated HR Business partnering experience, including the provision of advice and support in the following areas: IR/ER; workforce planning; performance management; people/capability development; remuneration and benefits; and change management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of contemporary HR Management principles, practices and current trends.
- High-level emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
