As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations and service teams by providing expert guidance and support in work health and safety (WHS). Reporting directly to the National HSE Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice, and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with state WHS legislation, codes of practice, and WHS Management System.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining Site Safety Management Plans, Health & Safety Coordination Plans, Emergency Action Plans, and Traffic Management Plans.
- Conduct regular WHS inspections, contractor observations, and investigations.
- Conduct Contractor Safety Inductions and ensure contractors meet safety requirements.
- Travel to other sites as needed to provide assistance, advice, and audits.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) preferred.
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
- Current CIC
- Strong knowledge of state WHS legislation and Australian Standards.
- Expertise in risk management and HIRAC processes.
- Ability to liaise with safety inspectors, union officials, and accreditation auditors.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to be a role model for coworkers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
