About the role
We have an exciting new position for a senior commercial lawyer to join our small team of 5 employees. This role sits within the Legal and Governance Team and will have a with a strong focus on MacKillop’s commercial contracts and other arrangements.
Working collaboratively with fellow legal professionals, you will be involved in managing a range of contracts and providing support in the oversight, review, and drafting of MacKillop’s contractual agreements. This is a fast-paced environment so we are seeking someone who has a can-do attitude that will thrive in an environment where no two days will be the same. The ideal candidate will showcase superb attention to detail, possess multitasking capabilities, and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity based in South Melbourne, VIC within our Corporate Services Unit. Whilst this position reports to the General Counsel there will be a requirement for this person to work autonomously as well.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 5+ years PQE corporate and commercial legal experience, whether in private practice or in combination with In-house experience, preferably within not-for-profit organisations.
- Admitted to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner and a current unrestricted practicing certificate.
- Law degree or equivalent
- Extensive corporate and commercial law experience, including experience in contract negotiation, tenders, acquisitions and general commercial advice.
