This role tracks workflows and timelines and manages the maintenance of records and the provision of quality reports to provide assurance in the contract management process. The role provides high level advice, support and assistance with disciplinary and corruption investigations carried out by investigation service providers.Key challenges
- Ensuring effective and efficient Workplace Conduct and Investigations Unit operations and that Branch Key Performance Indicators are met and reported accurately.
- Keeping abreast of current and emerging best practice, Government policy and statutory requirements relating to Workforce Relations, Conduct, and Investigations.
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Conducting complex investigations in tight timeframes and delivering high quality reports, findings and outcomes.
- Managing investigation service providers to ensure that prompt, expert, professional and high quality investigation reports are provided in line with requirements for investigations.
- Establishing and maintaining sound communication and relationships within Transport for NSW and operating agencies and their stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining a wide knowledge and understanding of the business environments within the Transport Cluster agencies.
- Ability to persuade, influence and motivate people to achieve outcomes.
- Working effectively as a member of the Transport for NSW Investigations team whilst operating remotely when required.
- Mentoring and guiding other WCIU staff in the conduct of quality investigation practices as and when required.
- Building and maintaining a wide knowledge and understanding of the business environment within Transport for NSW core divisions
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or relevant work experience and a capacity to undertake complex investigations in highly sensitive environments.
- Knowledge and understanding of the working of government entities involved in investigations, such as ICAC, and the NSW Ombudsman.
- High level experience in the interpretation and application of legislation. Substantial experience in the conduct of sensitive and/or complex investigations involving employee misconduct.
- Experience in managing contracted service providers and reporting on time, quality and cost outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in dealing effectively with people at all levels, both internal and external.
- Planning and organisational skills with experience in meeting deadlines within short time frames, managing changing priorities, and independently managing multiple tasks, projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience in maintaining a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and judgement.
