We're looking for 5 Fraud Investigations Officer to join our Fraud team. In this role you will be responsible for all types of Fraud investigations within Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Fraud Investigation Management team, including but not limited to Mule / Passthrough account typology. You will play a vital role in protecting our customers and minimising risk/impact to both customers and HSBC.
In this role you will be required to access and understand HSBC retail banking systems, take action on fraud cases in a timely manner, engage with all necessary stakeholders within and outside of HSBC, contact internal staff and customer directly if needed, conduct competent investigations into all types of fraud cases, work independently and as part of a team, share knowledge and experience as appropriate.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conduct investigation on Mule / Passthrough account (additional typologies and more complex investigations may follow)
- Assist in identifying best practices and procedures to test the designed Target Operation Model
- Strengthen control logs, strategies and the certification of operational loss process
- Maximise loss recovery and minimise risk exposure by taking prompt action where required
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines & prioritise workload
- Creativity and willingness to take the initiative.
- Good analytical skills.
- An enquiring mind with a good eye for detail.
- Existing Financial Crime experience (strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in a second language is an advantage
Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
