Senior Investigations Officer
NSW Government Department – Sydney CBD
ASAP start – 6 month initial contract
$600 - $718.75 per day + super
The Senior Investigations Officer is responsible for delivering high quality investigation services into alleged misconduct by employees .
Key accountabilities:
- Conduct Investigations – As required undertake investigations of alleged serious misconduct, fraud, corruption and/or maladministration by employees.
- Coordinate Investigations - Identify and engage appropriate investigation service providers where requires.
- Contract Administration and Management – Administer investigation service provider contracts to ensure compliance with contract obligations and monitor achievement of KPIs.
- Maintain administration processes that support contract documentation, communication, tracking of costs and reporting.
- Manage caseload efficiency of investigation service providers across the Cluster.
- Stakeholder relationships - Work with stakeholders in providing support for the conduct of investigations of alleged misconduct.
- Document Management – Ensure all documentation associated with allegations, complaints and investigations is effectively managed and tracked agreed document management protocols.
- Organisational Efficiency – Support the efficient allocation and maximisation of resources across the department by accurately monitoring resource allocation and loads.
- Prepare timely and accurate performance and process reporting. Provide advice on the efficient use of resources.
- Make recommendations for contract and contract management improvements and investigation methodology enhancements.
- Relevant tertiary-level qualifications
- Capacity to undertake complex investigations in highly sensitive environments.
- Knowledge and understanding of the working of government entities involved in investigations, such as ICAC, and the NSW Ombudsman.
- High level experience in the interpretation and application of legislation.
- Substantial experience in the conduct of sensitive and/or complex investigations involving employee misconduct.
- Experience in managing contracted service providers and reporting on time, quality and cost outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Superior planning and organisation skills – ability to meet tight deadlines
- Experience in maintaining a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and judgement.
