About the Role 

The newly created role of Senior Lecturer in Inclusive Education Futures will be a key member of the academic staff in the area of Education in the College who demonstrates expertise and leadership in this field.

As the successful candidate in this impactful role, you will develop innovative teaching materials, multi-modal teaching delivery, including face to face and online, and other innovative and contemporary teaching and learning strategies, appropriate for the discipline. You will also make independent quality contributions to impactful quantitative research utilising longitudinal and/or large data sets including through activities including external grant acquisition and research student supervision.

Some of the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Undertaking a lead role in the redesign, coordination, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching within the suite of undergraduate and/or postgraduate topics/courses with a focus on Inclusive Education Future Educational contexts (early childhood to year 12).
  • Providing expertise in in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Differentiated Instruction (DI), Explicit Instruction and Systematic Instruction (SI) for a diverse range of students with extensive variability in learning characteristics, in Inclusive settings.
  • Undertaking and delivering impactful, ethical, high-quality research related to inclusive and special education utilising quantitative/mixed research methods including longitudinal and/or large data sets or equivalent.
  • Supporting student success and enhancing the student experience including those with academic and/or other challenges impeding their academic progress.
  • Actively supervising and mentoring students undertaking complex WIL, Honours and/or Research Higher Degree.

About You

To be successful, you are a passionate professional in the field of Inclusive Education and have demonstrated evidence of successful relevant teaching experience and leadership at tertiary level in Inclusive Education (early childhood to year 12). Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification in Inclusive Education or related field is also required.

Some of the key position capabilities of the role include:

  • Demonstrated evidence of strong translational and impactful research including sustained attraction of competitive external grants related to Inclusive Education Futures with a focus on quantitative methods utilising longitudinal and/or large data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience and successful track record in supervision of honours and higher degree students to successful completion.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship.
  • Demonstrated understanding of MTSS and UDL as they apply to working with pre-school and school aged children.
  • Demonstrated understanding of both the Australian National Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework.
