Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel and collaborating with a decentralised global legal function, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering prompt and accurate Legal Counsel on a diverse range of matters and corporate projects.
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a broad array of contracts and agreements including enterprise SaaS subscriptions, strategic partnerships, software licensing, terms, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Providing support and guidance on company secretariat, corporate governance, regulatory, and compliance issues.
- Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of legal and governance professionals.
Our client's requirements include:
- 10-15+ years PQE with a focus on IT/Technology law.
- Bachelor of Laws and current Australian practising certificate; additional corporate governance qualifications viewed favourably.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, ideally with SaaS and technology licensing arrangements.
- Involvement in company secretariat matters; strong understanding of Corporations Law and ASX Listing Rules.
- Broad corporate/M&A experience will be advantageous.
- Experience supervising legal team members beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
- High ethical standards, integrity, judgement, and analytical capabilities.
- Quick learner with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and leadership.
- Skilled in negotiation and influencing across cross-functional teams.
