THE ROLE
They are seeking an experienced Manager with 2+ years’ experience in the management of a team of accountants who is looking to take the next step in their career as a Senior Manager. This position will be involved in providing professional accounting services to a diverse range of SME’s and high net wealth individuals.
Key responsibilities:-
- Responsible for maintaining and enhancing client relationships
- Delegating and managing workflow of staff within the team
- Overseeing professional development of team including coaching, training, appraising and ensuring KPI’s are met
- Researching and preparing advice on various taxation issues
- Maintaining and controlling internal reports, budgets, write offs, WIP, productivity reports and reviewing and monitoring ATO lodgement schedules
- Liaising with ATO and general correspondence in relation to income tax, PAYG & GST matters
- Managing the preparation and reviewing of Business/Instalment Activity Statement and Fringe Benefits Tax returns
- Able to identify client issues, develop a solution and communicate/sell the solution to the client
- Preparation of client presentations, proposals and presentation of papers on taxation issues for internal training forums and external groups
- 6+ years experience in a public practice environment with 2+ years management exposure
- CA or CPA Qualified
- Demonstrated understanding of Australian tax legislation and ability to provide tax planning and advice to clients from variety of industries
- Strong tax compliance focus
- Ability to lead small teams and supervise staff
- Excellent oral and written communication skills together with sound interpersonal skills
- Strong computing skills and knowledge of client accounting software packages
