Reporting to the Senior Director of Compliance, you will assist with improving and running Optus’ compliance management framework across all business units to ensure compliance is handled efficiently across the organisation. This will include maintaining appropriate governance, control, monitoring and reporting arrangements.
As part of the broader Compliance function, you'll work across Optus to ensure that regulatory compliance requirements are defined and detailed, implemented and adhered to across on an ongoing basis.
Key aspects of your role...
- Assisting with improving and rolling out the Compliance Framework in line with ISO 37301:2021;
- Compiling a Compliance Obligations Register together with risk assessments;
- Developing and implementing ongoing documentation required by Compliance Framework including policies, procedures, training packs and other such artefacts;
- Collaborating with business units and the Regulatory team to monitor compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Assisting with development, delivery and roll out of a Compliance Training Plan to promote and improve a strong company-wide compliance culture;
- Providing insight on the efficiency of current controls and compliance with policies, processes and regulations, and making recommendations for improvements;
- Staying on top of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving standard processes in compliance management;
- Data and trend analysis to identify early warning indicators of compliance risks and assist with development of controls to mitigate these risks;
- Preparing reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies; &
- Collaborating with the Risk Assurance team to assess future ventures with the aim of identifying and mitigating possible compliance risks.
Tertiary qualified in a Commerce or Business field with experience specialising in risk and compliance in a highly regulated industry (min 5+ years), you will have a strong understanding of enterprise risk management methodology, plus experience in implementing risk and compliance frameworks in line with ISO31000, ISO 19600 and other industry risk frameworks in enterprise environments.
We're keen to learn about your track record in establishing Line 1 risk and compliance capability, plus your understanding of audit and assurance processes. You'll demonstrate experience in using risk tooling to undertake required reporting and governance activities, plus you will have outstanding commercial competence, team leadership and management skills.
