Employee and Workplace Relations is responsible for management of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS)'s industrial relations program, the management of employee relations issues including employee conduct, the Human Resource Business Partnerships, and administration of the internal review of actions process.
About the Role:
The Senior Manager, Employee Investigations leads a highly motivated team of investigators to conduct timely and high-quality misconduct investigations across the department. They also build and maintain critical relationships with senior departmental executives and external stakeholders to resolve complex investigation issues and to achieve departmental outcomes.
Some of your duties will include:
- Leading the conduct of multiple complex misconduct investigations, ensuing they are delivered in a timely way, to the highest quality standards, and in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Leading a team of expert investigators conducting misconduct investigations in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020 (VPS Agreement) as well as reportable conduct investigations under the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005 (Vic).
- Preparing and overseeing purposeful investigation reports that withstand rigorous scrutiny and independent challenge.
About You:
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Extensive experience in undertaking complex and sensitive investigations consistent with the relevant legislative and industrial requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of the VPS Agreement and reportable conduct scheme.
- Applicants must have a background in investigations to be suitable for this role. Studies in law or experience in Government Investigations or Industrial Relations would also be an advantage.
- An Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) will be required for this role at the expense of the applicant once successfully in the role. Currency is required to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
