Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer wanted to develop and mentor a team of engineers with a mechanical contractor based in Toowoomba. Up to $180K Salary

Located in Toowoomba and with an office in Brisbane, our client provides commercial and industrial electrical, air-conditioning, refrigeration, communication, security and facility maintenance services to the construction, civil, mining, energy and data storage industries across Queensland.

Their diverse experience includes projects such as schools, hospitals, data centres, community facilities, hotels, sports fields and service stations, among others. It's a busy time for their engineering division and they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to grow and develop their team.

About the role:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a critical role in the Mechanical division, with the purpose of this position being to provide engineering experience and support to the greater business of our client. Key to this role, is minimizing the risk to our client and assisting in protecting the business from professional liabilities. Additionally, this position will be responsible for providing engineering input into tendering opportunities to ensure our client is in the best possible
position to secure projects without any risk design modification.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be pivotal to the projects delivery team, sharing experience and knowledge to enhance the skill set of others through the identification of value management opportunities and / or risks, and ensuring clear communication of commercial realities.

The position includes a very attractive salary, and the opportunity to work form home 2 days per week.

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified, with the following skills and experience:

• Advanced level knowledge and skills in management of the design in HVAC R projects
• Experience with 3D Modeling programs such as AutoCAD
• Advanced level computer skills in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook), project costing software, programming
• (MS project or similar) and cost control software (Jobpac)
• Well-developed people management skills, experience in conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• High level knowledge of contracts with experience in financial management and budget projections
• Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
