Our client, a well-respected, established and soon to be expanding multi-disciplinary team consisting of Bariatric Surgeons, Upper GI/General Surgeons, Endocrinologist, Physicians, Psychologist, Diabetes Educator, Exercise Physiologist and 5 Dieticians are actively seeking the expertise of an additional full time permanent Senior Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join their team.
Joining this group at such an exciting time, you will enjoy working from new purpose-built rooms in the recently completed Chermside Health Hub, boasting 11 modern consulting rooms. The administration and clinical team are a truly amazing selection of friendly supportive people who pride themselves on superior patient care and providing the patients with the compassion they deserve.
The position will offer the right candidate full time permanent days/hours – 38 hours a week, rostered 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. These shifts are shared amongst the team, and based on-site at Chermside with ample street parking available.
This role will involve (but won’t be limited to):
- Greeting patients as they arrive at the clinic in a warm and compassionate manner
- Taking all incoming telephone calls and assisting patients with any general enquiries
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Preparing and running patient clinics
- Preparing theatre quotations and booking theatre procedures
- Processing patient billing and receipting for both consultations and theatre procedures
- Scanning and digitising patient records
- Ad hoc medical typing of general correspondence as required
- General reception and secretarial support to the multi-disciplinary team
The practice use Shexie software, experience with Medical Objects, Eclipse, Medicare, Workcover, DVA and NDIS billing will certainly assist your success in this position.
To be closely considered for this position, you will have:
- Previous specialist practice experience (preferably within a Surgical Specialist practice), exposure working within a busy and fast paced practice would be advantageous.
- Experience using Patient Management software (eg; Shexie, Best Practice, Genie or Gentu)
- Ability to work cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously
- Ability to handle a fast paced and challenging work environment
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality in a health care setting
- Outstanding attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills
- Appropriate presentation for a professional medical office setting
Remuneration:
A salary commensurate with skills and experience will be offered to a suitably qualified candidate. This position is for an immediate start! Accessible street parking is available.
