About the Role

SmartClinics Clayfield Family Medical Centre is located near Clayfield College, with facilities such as ample patient parking, as well as onsite pathology and radiology services. This clinic operates from 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There are 6 dedicated and highly experienced doctors within this clinic that offer a range of services, of which include but are not limited to diabetes assessment & management, addiction medicine & pain management, general health and health checks. 


About the role

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Medical Receptionist to join our friendly, supportive and experienced team at SmartClinics Clayfield. We have on offer a full time position. We are looking for a someone who can think laterally and has the ability to work both independently when required and cohesively within a team environment. The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated with a sound background in customer service and be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment and industry. Proficient computer skills are essential with a knowledge of medical software including Best Practice desirable.  

This will be a challenging and stimulating position but also very rewarding.

Daily tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Excellent customer service – you will be the first point of contact for our patients, in person and on the phone.
  • Maintaining confidentiality while managing patient records.
  • Processing payments, Medicare and third-party claims and reconciliations
  • Effective management of patient appointment types
  • General administration and daily office duties
  • Duties as required by Doctors and the Practice Manager
  • Provide support to wider reception team members.

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse team and independently
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Previous Medical Reception experience would be an advantage however not essential
  • Enthusiasm, willingness, and ability to learn and retain information
