The Role
We are looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to manage end to end payroll processes for all JKLP businesses and work with a diverse group of stakeholders across all levels, both internally and externally.
This is a full-time opportunity with some flexibility for four days. The role is based at Ripponlea with one day a week spent at Jackalope Hotel on the Mornington Peninsula.
Your core responsibilities will include –
- Complete fortnightly payrolls for each business in the Group.
- Collaborate with P&C leaders and support managers with processing rosters / timesheets prior to payroll preparation including terminations, new starters, superannuation, and deductions.
- Ensure all relevant awards and payroll-based employment legislation is being adhered to across the Group
- Provide ongoing support and training to managers across the businesses, ensuring accurate and timely data input to meet set deadlines.
- Manually calculating pays as required
- Prepare banking requirements for the timely payment of wages and superannuation.
- Preparation and submission of STP, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation and Workers Insurance.
- Represent the Group for all Work Cover insurance matters.
- Respond to enquiries from staff regarding personnel and payroll matters, in a prompt and confidential manner.
- Ensure that all employee payroll details are maintained accurately and securely
- Support the executive leadership team and line managers with accurate payroll reporting to maximise productivity and minimise payroll cost.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting for various areas of the business.
The Successful Candidate
You will be an experienced Senior Payroll Officer with knowledge of the hospitality and/or retail sector. Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing capability, including interpretation of awards, as well as understanding of payroll legislation and industrial relations will be important.
You are a confident collaborator with strong attention to detail and can read the play, remaining one step ahead. You will thrive in an environment where you are the subject matter expert and will love rolling up your sleeves and providing the highest level of customer service across the business.
Building positive relationships quickly, together with strong organisational skills will be considered some of your strengths, as are your discretion and ability to remain cool under pressure.
Industry experience will be highly regarded, but more importantly we are looking for someone who is warm, practical and mature.
Zambion and/or Xero experience would be helpful.
