Job description
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Provide high quality, well researched advice to senior management in relation to disaster management issues to ensure QPS meets its legislative obligation and requirements.- Undertake research and analysis to identify potential risks and issues and contribute to the development of innovative strategies and solutions that meet quality business outcomes.- Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team to the planning, development, implementation, overview and evaluation of strategic projects, policies and legislation ensuring quality business outcomes.- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external disaster management stakeholders to assist with meeting sector and government requirements.- Prepare and review reports, briefing notes, submissions, and correspondence for senior management, the Minister, Cabinet, and other diverse audiences, relating to disaster management matters and initiatives in accordance with requirements.- Provide high quality secretariat support for state-level disaster management groups.
Role Requirements:
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
Knowledge, experience, or qualifications in policy related area(s), and/or disaster management will be highly regarded.
Other
Capacity to support operational duties during disaster events. This may require work outside of normal hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and may include deployment to other parts of the State.
