As Entura grows to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are currently looking for a Senior Principal, Water (Hydrology & Hydraulics) to join our exceptional technical leadership team.

About the role
Reporting to the Director, Water and Renewables, The Senior Principal, Water (Hydrology & Hydraulics) will support the technical leadership within this Group, playing a key technical leadership role across the broader business, influential with a range of stakeholders, supporting growth and development of others, while contributing to shaping and promoting the strategic direction of the business.
The Senior Principal, Water (Hydrology & Hydraulics) is the technical leader of the work that Entura does across the Water Management Team, including hydrography / data collection, hydrology, water and flood modelling, river hydraulics, hydraulic modelling associated with dam and hydropower projects, including open channel and closed conduit flows.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will be recognised by your peers as a technical leader in the relevant professional field/specialty and support in making recommendations and solving all related technical problems relevant to Entura’s business.
This role is ideally based in our Hobart or Melbourne office however flexible work arrangements are considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
About you
As an experienced technical leader, you will possess some of the following attributes and experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in water engineering, acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent
• Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience
• CPEng or other equivalent, suitable accreditation
• Suitable for consideration as a Fellow of Engineers Australia
• Extensive experience in some or all of the following:
• Water monitoring & management
• Hydrological modelling
• Yield hydrology
• Flood hydrology
• Reservoir modelling
• Hydraulic modelling
• River hydraulics
• Channel hydraulics
• Closed conduit hydraulics
• Data capture, management and analytics
• Spatial and GIS skills

• Ability to solve complex technical and operational problems, either through a systematic approach or innovation
• Advanced leadership skills with the ability to play a prominent part in motivating, mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Good client and project management skills

The position would be ideal for a practising engineer with technical leadership experience in an engineering design consultancy environment.
