Senior Procurement Officer

Our client within the education industry is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join their commercial team. They are currently seeking an experienced procurement professional with a broad base of exposure to strategic procurement, end-to-end tendering and contract management.
Your new role
Working in conjunction with the commercial team, the Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for providing a broad degree of end-to-end procurement activity across all areas of the organisation.
Key roles and responsibilities of the position will include:
- Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements and providing recommendations to the Chief Commercial Officer where there is risk to outcomes
- Identify qualified and reliable suppliers and vendors, including executing the end-to-end tender or panel processes
- Optimising sourcing processes, ensuring the operations teams have all required items in the right place and at the right time
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers and resolve disputes
- Develop, establish and maintain effective policies and processes
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll come with prior experience managing high value, business critical procurement activity in a stand-alone role.
Key skills and experience required to be successful will include:
- 5+ years experience in procurement
- Proven experience in managing procurement suppliers and tender processes, including the set-up and management of panel supplier processes
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Batchelor degree in business, economics, supply chain management, logistics or related field
