A newly created position, the Senior Procurement Officer will play a crucial role in aligning procurement practices with our organisation's overall goals while driving efficiency and cost optimization.
You will build strong relationships with vendors and internal teams, formulate and execute sound, cost-effective procurement strategies, while ensuring efficient sourcing and delivery of goods and services. Key responsibilities include managing and negotiating supplier and vendor contracts, overseeing the procurement investment, identifying value creation for JAG, building strong relationships with internal teams, plus maintaining procurement policies, and reporting.
About the role
This role reports to the Head of Process Improvement and Operational Excellence within the Commercial department. Working independently, you will be the expert in guiding the business in procurement procedures, policies, and best practices.
- Procurement Strategic Planning: develop and implement best practice procurement strategies to increase ROI and decrease cost, perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements, and build professional and strategic business relationships
- Procurement Operation Management: identify qualified and reliable vendors, end-to-end tender process, review and negotiate to align to business savings profile and quality, and manage a budget and optimization activities
- Relationship Management: build and maintain long-term relationships with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers, dispute resolution, and regular and personalised discussions with key stakeholders including IT, Operations, and Marketing to ensure an understanding of their procurement requirements proactively
- Governance and Reporting: Develop, establish, and maintain effective policies and processes, prepare procurement reports and insights, maintain JAG's Modern Slavery statement and Supplier Code of Conduct, review with Finance to understand spend profiles and budget deficiencies

Who are we looking for?
- Minimum 5 - 10 years' experience in a similar role in medium-sized enterprises
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge and experience in preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, negotiation terms, and relevant regulations
- In-depth knowledge and experience in conducting tenders and establishing panel supplier selection processes
- Self-management and influencing skills, with an ability to lead and conduct discussions with external suppliers.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and time manage, highly organised and detail-oriented
