Your Role:
Located at our Head Office in the Southside of Brisbane, our Senior Project / Design Engineer is part of our Product Development team and will have responsibility for project managing new products from conception to production.
The projects you will lead will include costing, development, material selection, design and specification, process analysis, testing and PPAP documentation. In your role you will lead both the product design and project delivery aspects.
You will work closely with your fellow Engineering team members, CAD designers, toolmakers, production, sales, and QA. The role will also see you liaising directly with our customer & supply base globally, across both OEM and Aftermarket market.
For the successful candidate, there will be possibility of relocating to the Sunshine State in Brisbane.
About you:
- Tertiary qualified Project Engineer / Mechanical Engineer;
- With at least 5 years’ experience in new product design and development in the manufacturing industry;
- Experience of Design for Manufacture of components would be a great advantage;
- Knowledge of product manufacturing techniques such as fabrication, injection moulding, pressing, casting and forging would be a great advantage; and
- Understanding the requirements of PPAP and APQP.
It would be advantageous if you could demonstrate the following:
- Working within the Automotive OEM or After Market sector for design of vehicle components;
- Knowledge of automotive accessory development processes;
- Knowledge and understanding of CAD & Engineering drawings;
- Exposure to managing new products from conception to production;
- Knowledge of TeamCenter; and
- Knowledge of Tool design & GD&T.
