About the role:
MTE are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join the growing team at its Edinburgh facility.
Joining our SMP and pressure vessel capability, the role will report directly to the department manager and is critical to the development of the planning and design team, through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will see you:
- Coordinate with Estimators, Managers and Supervisors to determine full scope and scheduling of works.
- Provide overall progress reports and any other reports relating to costs and scheduling as required.
- Oversee project components, handle changes and challenges, review technical documents and resolve technical issues.
- Manage the execution of small, medium and large-scale projects.
- Oversee general project control duties, including management of variations, including any variations to scope and associated implications.
- Design or study mechanical/piping modification to oil and gas processing, oil and gas handling and utilities facilities.
- Be part of project team responsible for project development and completion: Preliminary engineering to detail designs to construction and the final turnover.
- Review and provide inputs to scope of work, project proposal and provide best practice guidance.
- Develop and apply material classes based on product and project requirements.
- Lead the generation and review of concept detail drawings, datasheets, calculations, material requisitions.
- When required, perform in-house mechanical and engineering design and studies.
- Coordinate and direct drafters/designers, check drawings and other documents.
- Able to decisively manage the entire project from start to finish.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive working experience in mechanical and pressure vessel engineering
- Technical experience in pressure vessel layout
- In-depth knowledge of detailed engineering and design of pressure vessels such as Australian Standards, ASME and other relevant pressure equipment standards
- Technical knowledge of pressure vessel engineering, including material classes
- Experience in technical review of vendor drawings and data
- Proficient in mechanical/pressure vessel engineering tools/software
