Role Purpose:
This role will provide effective management, oversight and co-ordination of the project phases of various allocated projects to drive efficiency, continuous improvement and ensure the project is delivered in time and within budget. Leading a project team of Project Managers and Project Engineers, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for performance of the team’s project portfolio through strong leadership skills, mentoring and development of the team and technical expertise to deliver the expected results within the agreed margins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a project team, ensuring their goals align with the company's overall strategy and financial objectives
- Oversee the project budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and keeping stakeholders informed through reports and presentations
- Lead the execution of projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, stay within budget, and adhere to quality and control standards
- Proactively manage issues, risks, and change requests to guarantee successful project delivery
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, streamlining workflows and optimizing efficiency
- Manage a team of skilled Technical Writers, Document Controllers, Schedulers, and Contract Administrators, ensuring timely information flow and supporting successful project execution
- Contribute to developing winning tenders by providing project execution expertise and strategic guidance
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, providing leadership and strategic direction to project teams
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil, Chemical or Mechanical)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Major Project Management experience
- Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and developing staff
- Project management skills, including the ability to plan, organise, and coordinate activities within budget and schedule constraints
- Contract Management and commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to interpret and understand complex
- Working knowledge of PMBOK
