Senior Project Manager

We are excited to partner with our client National Intermodal on a nationwide infrastructure project that will fundamentally change the future of freight movement across Australia. Part of an independently run organisation, several very significant $1bn+ projects will be delivered across the East Coast over the next 10 years, with some projects already part operational. Six Degrees are exclusively recruiting some key national leadership roles as part of the delivery team to design, build and deliver the remaining projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead a significant stage of this program of works. Reporting to the GM New Development Projects and working closely with the Program Manager, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for client-side project management and delivery of major infrastructure projects.

The main objective of this position is to oversee projects from the initial planning phase, developing a final business case, achieving delivery readiness & finally full completion of the project achieving the best possible outcome across a wide range of stakeholders. The role involves working closely with various teams within the business to develop detailed designs and definitions for complex major infrastructure projects. This includes conducting thorough scoping, concept design, risk management, constructability assessment, stakeholder consultation, and environmental assessment activities. The Senior Project Manager will lead project teams and collaborate widely to ensure successful project delivery.
 
Essential Qualifications:

1. Relevant tertiary qualification, most likely engineering (civil/mechanical/structural).
2. Significant experience delivering large publicly funded projects. (Most likely road or rail infrastructure). We would also consider freight & logistics type backgrounds such as highly automated DCs & freight facilities.
3. Experience managing tier 1 engineering consultancies & principal contractors.
