Marinus Link is an underground and undersea electricity and data cable that will further connect Tasmania and Victoria. The cable will run 255km undersea from North West Tasmania to Waratah Bay, Victoria, then a further 90km underground to the centre of Gippsland. With funding from the State and Federal Governments, in addition to AEMO (Australian Energy Market Operator) reaffirming in its Draft 2024 Integrated System Plan (ISP) that Marinus Link is an urgent transmission project, Marinus Link is long term project that will be a key part of the lowest-cost pathway to Australia’s net-zero emissions targets.
Your role
As a Senior Project Manager - Cables, you will provide expert project management services and support the successful delivery of the Marinus Link interconnector project, supporting the transition to renewables, the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Target (TRET) and National Electricity Market (NEM) objectives.
Reporting to the Package Manager – Cables and Victorian Ops, this role will be a full-time engagement until the end of 2024, with the possibility of extension as the project progresses.
Your key responsibilities
- Plan and develop business cases to support the progression of elements of the project.
- Drafting and reviewing documents and service agreements and negotiating agreements with external parties.
- Develop, maintain and manage Project Management Plan, schedule, budget, procurement, risk, issue, dependency and decision registers in line with governance controls and delivery methodology.
- Lead the project team through all stages of the delivery lifecycle, working collaboratively with business and delivery partners, including contractor management and Contractor Document reviews.
- Work collaboratively with other business areas such as Engineering, Land Access, Stakeholder Engagement, Finance, Scheduling and Commercial.
You’ll need
- Recognised Project Management certification (e.g. AIPM, PMI, Prince2) or equivalent level of professional experience in linear infrastructure construction.
- Demonstrated experience working as Project Manager covering all aspects of delivery lifecycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience of project lifecycle methodologies and governance frameworks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to inform and influence key stakeholders
