The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will be based in our Docklands office and will ensure all allocated projects within the Program are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, to budget and meet the functional requirements. Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple, complex projects within the capital program by implementing best practice systems, processes and procurement methodologies.
- Applying project management, change management, and interpersonal skills to projects that hold strategic significance for Melbourne Water and key stakeholders. These projects typically involve large numbers and intricate engagement models.
- Championing social procurement, multiple benefits and carbon reduction as key drivers within your projects
- Fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Meticulously overseeing cost, budget, schedule, and quality in alignment with MCD business objectives, encompassing the execution of high-risk, high-value, and complex projects.
Salary Level: Hay Grade 17

Your Skills and Experience
- Extensive expertise in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge and proven expertise in designing and constructing large multi-disciplinary projects. Substantial experience in (end to end) project management, handling multiple concurrent projects or programs, effectively managing technical, environmental, social, and reputational impacts, and successfully negotiating and resolving commercial, contractual, and industrial relations issues.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and management of various contract delivery models including the management of multiple stakeholders in the complex contractual arrangements across both design and construction functions.
- Proven consultation and negotiation skills, proven ability to build relationships and influence and communicate effectively about complex or sensitive subjects of strategic importance at all levels.
- A tertiary degree in Engineering
- Competency-based project management certification with a relevant local or international professional organization (desirable only)
- Medical, Qualification Check, Police Check
