Lead the project management and delivery of marketing and communications initiatives associated with the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator project
Base Salary $135,820 - $143,310 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Senior Project Marketing Specialist is responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise, develop and implement marketing and communications strategies and plans for the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator project.
The Sydney Biomedical Accelerator (SBA) is a first-in-Australia precinct that will fast-track scientific discovery into better clinical and patient-centred research and healthcare solutions. It is a co-funded partnership project between the NSW Government (NSW Health), Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) and the University of Sydney, due to be operational in 2027. This project is a key priority in the University’s 2032 Strategy.
In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies to engage primary audiences and build the University’s reputation for research excellence. Your key responsibilities include:
lead the project management and development of a marketing and communications strategy and plan for the initial development phase of the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator,
manage the relationship with the external creative agency on the development of the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator enduring brand position and message framework: this includes everything from agency selection to developing the brief through to the delivery of the final product,
engage and maintain collaborative relationships with all areas of the University’s External Engagement Portfolio, the Sydney Local Health District, and other internal and external stakeholders to leverage all relevant brand and reputation-building opportunities presented by the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator,
use your creative skills to create compelling communications across websites, events, newsletters, brochures, social media and other channels as opportunities arise.
About you
bachelor's degree in a relevant field with an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
experience developing and implementing marketing and communication campaigns with demonstrated skills creating high quality communications tailored for different audiences
well-developed organisational and project management skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines and work under pressure
excellent stakeholder management skills across a wide range of disciplines and stakeholder types
highly developed written and oral communication skills with the sound interpersonal skills necessary to achieve effective coordination of cross disciplinary support teams
experience working with creative and/or digital agencies
experience working in a large, multi-faceted organisation with knowledge of the higher education sector and government agencies.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
