Ready to lead a transformative change in the world of mental health and well-being? We're on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Psychologist/Clinical Lead to join the ranks at Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with two other Senior Psychologist/Clinical Leads to spearhead the coordination and delivery of top-tier clinical and psychological services (therapeutic group interventions, workshops and mental health training) for our university community. You'll be a hands-on leader, providing clinical supervision, overseeing operational aspects of clinical services, tackling complex cases, and championing the development and monitoring of internal processes.?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Efficiently coordinating staff and resources for daily client services, liaising with admin and counsellors to address client needs, optimising appointment systems for accessibility, and ensuring emergency presentations align with the Service’s Operational Plan.
- Developing effective strategies for managing complex clinical cases, including coordinating with University complimentary services and relevant external mental health services.
- providing secondary consultations to the University community in relation to student mental ill health concerns and the mitigation of psychosocial risk.?
- Maintaining exemplary client record management in accordance with professional standards, legislation, policies, and University requirements

You will also have:
- A current psychologist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, endorsed as a Supervisor and in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
- Possess a post-graduate degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology at the Masters level or higher, or an equivalent blend of relevant experience and education/training.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in planning, providing, and evaluating psychological services, encompassing therapeutic group interventions, workshops, mental health training, and consultancies.
- Showcase expertise in formal program/service evaluation, articulate service standards and expectations, and demonstrate proficiency in quantitative and statistical analysis, as well as report writing.

Your new team – Counselling and Psychological Services, Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services (SASS) provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers well-being and scholarly services to students and staff.
CAPS is part of the Wellbeing suite of services in Student Success, SASS.? CAPS provides free professional counselling to students and staff and delivers a range of training and consultancy activities. The University is committed to an on-campus experience for those in Australia and CAPS primarily offers in-person services with some online services for students unable to attend campus. The service is led by a Head of Service/Manager, with three Senior Psychologists/Clinical Leads, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the service and comprises around 28 people including Counsellors, Locum /Psychology Registrar Counsellors, Clinical Psychology Intern Counsellors, and reception/administration staff.
