Why The Role Matters:
The Senior Research Associate/Post-Doctoral Fellow will carry out independent and/or team research within the field in which they are appointed and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to their particular field of research. The role of Senior Research Associate/Post-Doctoral Fellow reports to Project Lead/CI and has no direct reports
Accountabilities:

- Engage in individual and/or collaborative research in a manner consistent with disciplinary practice, as part of the Australian Research Council-funded project ‘Regional Australia’s skills shortages and highskill refugees’ employment’.
- Create scholarly impact in the discipline which is recognised by peers in the advancement of disciplinary knowledge.
- Conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision, both independently and as a member of a team, as part of the assigned project team.
- Contribute to the development of applications for competitive funding under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Design and plan research activities for the assigned project.
- Undertake travel and fieldwork within Australia for the assigned project as necessary.
- Consult with, and present research findings to, relevant project stakeholders.
- Present research findings to peers at workshops and conferences, as per the norms of the discipline.
Skills and Experience:
To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

- A PhD in a related discipline, and work experience in the Australian refugee sector.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- A track record of significant involvement in Australian refugee policy.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively within the academic field of forced migration studies and within the sector.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
