About the Opportunity
The Senior Solicitor (OPL) is to provide high quality legal advice and representation on highly complex and sensitive matters without supervision or direction in relation to general commercial and property legal services to Government.
The Senior Solicitor (OPL) joins a team of solicitors providing dedicated services to the Department for Education and provides leadership and supervision to junior legal officers. The successful applicant will provide high quality legal advice, document preparation, and representation on a range of interesting and challenging matters.
About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office, through the Attorney-General, provides legal services to government, Ministers, agencies and departments, including legal advice, representation before courts and tribunals, negotiating commercial contracts, drafting and production of legal documents, counsel for the conduct of summary prosecutions and Magistrates' appeals, native title claim management, land conveyancing and investigation.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted practicing certificate within South Australia.
