About the Opportunity
The Environment & Planning Group (EPG) within the CrownSolicitor's Office, is responsible for providing high quality legaladvice to and representation of government in the areas of planninglaw, environment protection, climate change, water, nativevegetation, fisheries, energy and mining and others. The diverserange of work includes statutory construction and general advice ona range of legislation, as well as representation of the state inadministrative appeals, prosecutions and judicial reviews.
Multiple roles are available across the range of LEC1 to LEC5,depending on the skills and experience of the successfulcandidates. Senior Solicitors at the LEC4 and LEC5 range will beresponsible for supervising junior solicitors and workingindependently on complex and sensitive matters.
About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office (CSO), through theAttorney-General, provides legal services to government, Ministers,agencies and departments, including legal advice, representationbefore courts and tribunals, negotiating commercial contracts,drafting and production of legal documents, counsel for the conductof summary prosecutions and Magistrates' appeals, native titleclaim management, land conveyancing and investigation.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicantswill be provided further information if an interview is requested.Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) underany circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing sowill not be recoverable from the AGD.
Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence(equivalent to minimum class C)
Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain a practisingcertificate within South Australia. For Senior Solicitors (LEC4– LEC5), must possess or be eligible to obtain anunrestricted practicing certificate.
