Based in Victoria's picturesque Mornington Peninsula, Barmah Park Restaurant & Cellar Door has a relaxed yet sophisticated dining room with spectacular panoramic vineyard views. We create exceptional food and wine experiences focusing on local produce that are seasonal and sustainable to showcase our wines.
The restaurant operates Wed to Sun each week for lunch from 11am. Friday and Saturday night we also do a dinner service.
About the role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Senior Sous to work closely alongside our current head chef. The position will develop your ability to run and operate our kitchen at a level required to meet the standard set for our restaurant. There will be an expectation for contribution to menu development with license given for creative exploration of modern Australian cuisine.
Working alongside our current head chef you will assist with ordering to gain an understanding of our current relationship with local suppliers with the emphasis on only the freshest and best local produce entering the kitchen.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate competency in all the standard skillset requirements for a Senior Sous Chef position:
- Initiative and time management during prep and service
- Strong knife skillset.
- Working with a efficient sense of urgency.
- Having an even temperament.
- Keen eye for detail with emphasis on dish presentation.
- Consistency in food standards.
- Understanding of food related health and safety procedures to protect the health, safety and welfare of customers and employees.
