About The Position:
We are currently looking for a Senior Sous Chef who will be responsible for supporting our Head Chef Joe Grbac in running the kitchen.
The Senior Sous chef's role is integral to the support of the kitchen, and often, you are critical to the running of the kitchen autonomously from the Head Chef. This is an active leadership position, with delegation and attention to detail being key to success in this role. You will liaise with the Head Chef to create menu items, develop recipes, and refine dishes.
Furthermore, you will ensure that all products that leave your department align with the pub’s brand and are consistent. The position is hands-on, based in the kitchen with some light admin duties.
We work hard, but we work together. We expect a professional approach, but we support you with the same.
About the role:
- You will oversee food ordering and purchasing inventory.
- You will also be responsible for task delegation and staff management.
- From daily temperature fridge checks to end-of-night pack-down, the Sous Chef will ensure the kitchen is up to standard and teaching/practising best food health and safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management during service.

- 3 years' experience in a kitchen management position.
- Bring the good vibes, and be a team leader.
- Basic technical literacy with an understanding of Excel, Deputy, and Restoke.

Employment Conditions: This is a full-time salaried position under the Publican.Co Enterprise Agreement 2023/2024 and FairWork Legislation.
Remuneration: Our compensation package reflects our team’s commitment and hard work, offering:
- A starting salary of $80,000-$90,000 p.a. + superannuation, depending on experience.
