The Goose is on the hunt for senior kitchen talent. The Goose has been an icon of dining for locals and visitors in Busselton for 20 years, placed right at the foot of the famous Busselton Jetty with uninterrupted views of Geographe Bay, The Goose is a truly unique hospitality venue.

A catastrophic fire in 2021 saw the restaurant destroyed, it has been rebuilt and we reopened in July 2023, we have focused on a smart casual menu catering to the modern Australian diner showcasing local food and beverage in the beautiful new building.

We are searching for a Senior Sous Chef to fit into the existing kitchen structure, bring a creative energy and a calm leadership. The Goose prides itself on hard work with a healthy lifestyle balance, we aim to operate an enjoyable workplace with the values of mutual respect & integrity.

You will help the Head Chef take the kitchen team and restaurant menu into its next phase, building on the existing systems and processes, promoting a calm & measured workplace. 

Senior Sous Chef Role:

• Collaborate with the Head Chef on every aspect of the kitchen operations.
• Training, leadership, mentorship for all kitchen staff.
• Cultivate a supportive and enjoyable workplace.
• Organization of kitchen prep, ordering, delegation of tasks in the kitchen.
• Oversee the cleanliness of the kitchen, use cleaning schedules and checklists.
• Actively participate in the service for the restaurant.
• Quality control, drive consistency and speed.
• Be a creative force, contribute to the restaurant menu and weekly specials.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience as a head chef or Sous Chef.
• Recent experience in a modern fast paced establishment.
• In depth knowledge of kitchen process and procedure.
• Strong menu planning skills with an eye for creativity and plating.
• Calm and professional manner.
