Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and client-driven Speech Pathologist to join our allied health team in Perth. The role involves working with a diverse client base to conduct a variety of speech/language assessments and interventions that are in keeping with best practice standards. The role will provide mentorship and supervision to the rest of the Speech Pathology team. The role is also responsible for providing practical advice to the family and representatives of clients. All of this is done with the intention of assisting our clients in reaching their goals and pursuing their dreams.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Managing a diverse client list which will include children and adults
- Working collaboratively with the allied health team to provide a range of Speech Pathology services, set goals and develop comprehensive therapy plans
- Delivering services across both clinic-based appointments and home visits
- Ensuring that all support is provided within the applicable framework
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Our preferred candidate will have significant previous experience working within the NDIS framework or with people who live with disability. Ideally, this experience will have also included supervisory responsibilities. They will be natural communicators who pride themselves on their ability to build and maintain meaningful, lasting relationships with their clients. They will also maintain and deliver person-centered therapies that value the choice and goals of the client and they will have the people skills to keep all stakeholders informed of their actions and progress. They will have the organisational skills to provide effective reporting and data to the organisation. They will also demonstrate a commitment to being a productive and positive member of the broader allied health team.
As well as the above skills, the Key Requirements include:
- A member of the SPA with certified practicing status
- Possess or willing to obtain both an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check
- A valid WA licence and a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience working within the Disability sector is highly desirable
