Senior Subsea Pipeline Engineer

Client is an independent engineering and project management consultancy, specialising in offshore and subsea energy infrastructure. Their clients include multi-national to mid-size energy companies internationally and here in Australia, encompassing both traditional energy and renewable energy infrastructure.
Their work covers a broad range of technical disciplines, including mechanical, process, electrical, geotechnical, hydrodynamic and reliability engineering. Client combines cloud-based computing with world-leading automated engineering and data handling techniques.

The Position:
This role involves leading and supporting engineering design, technical documentation, and construction/commissioning activities for new and existing pipeline assets. The candidate will play a vital role in the development of optimised solutions to energy infrastructure challenges
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Design and Analysis:

• Conduct stress analysis, flow-induced vibration analysis, and simulation of complex multi-physics pipeline phenomena using Clients suite of automated engineering tools.
• Prepare design calculations and documentation for different project phases (Concept/Feasibility, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction and Operations).
• Contribute to pipeline-related packages such as line pipe, valves, actuators, and fittings.

2. Project Management and Collaboration:

• Engage actively in project teams, managing projects and ensuring delivery of scope within schedule and budget.
• Participate in risk assessments, safety management system workshops, and provide technical support for engineering and design processes.
• Communicate effectively with project managers and team members to ensure seamless project execution.

3. Technical Expertise and Development:

• In-depth knowledge of pipeline integrity and operations, maintenance philosophies, and relevant Australian and International standards (DNV ST-F101, AS2885, ASME B31.12, API 6D, API 5L, AS 3862).
• Experience in Subsea Pipeline mechanical design and related analyses

Skills and Experience:
1. Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Chartered or Registered Professional Engineer

2. Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years in the design of offshore pipelines.
• Proven experience in pipeline design, including concept development, FEED, and detailed design phases.
• Proficiency in the use of Pipeline Engineering software

3. Communication & Interpersonal Skills:

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
