The Position:
This role involves leading and supporting engineering design, technical documentation, and construction/commissioning activities for new and existing pipeline assets. The candidate will play a vital role in the development of optimised solutions to energy infrastructure challenges
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Design and Analysis:
- Conduct stress analysis, flow-induced vibration analysis, and simulation of complex multi-physics pipeline phenomena using Clients suite of automated engineering tools.
- Prepare design calculations and documentation for different project phases (Concept/Feasibility, FEED, Detailed Design, Construction and Operations).
- Contribute to pipeline-related packages such as line pipe, valves, actuators, and fittings.
- Engage actively in project teams, managing projects and ensuring delivery of scope within schedule and budget.
- Participate in risk assessments, safety management system workshops, and provide technical support for engineering and design processes.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
- In-depth knowledge of pipeline integrity and operations, maintenance philosophies, and relevant Australian and International standards (DNV ST-F101, AS2885, ASME B31.12, API 6D, API 5L, AS 3862).
- Experience in Subsea Pipeline mechanical design and related analyses
1. Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Chartered or Registered Professional Engineer
- Minimum of 7 years in the design of offshore pipelines.
- Proven experience in pipeline design, including concept development, FEED, and detailed design phases.
- Proficiency in the use of Pipeline Engineering software
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Enjoys working in teams whilst being individually motivated;
- Solves problems by breaking them down into manageable components;
- Is good at communicating technical topics to people of different experience, both verbally and in written form; and
- Has curiosity and enthusiasm for engineering and analytical subjects, and strong academic results in these areas.
