Senior Systems Accountant

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Systems Accountant who will be responsible for leveraging technology to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and improve decision-making. This role requires a blend of accounting expertise and technical proficiency, particularly in mining and transforming data across various financial systems. You will design and automate reports, employing advanced tools such as SAP, Excel, and Power BI, suitable for senior and executive level consideration.

• 3 month contract with possible 3 month extension
• Brisbane CBD location

As the Senior Systems Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Use expert knowledge to mine data from various financial systems (i.e., SAP).
• Manipulate and transform financial data to support accurate reporting and identifying insights critical for decision-making.
• Design and automate financial reports, using various systems including SAP, Excel, Power BI and other financial systems, enhancing the accessibility of financial information.
• Analyse financial and administrative systems to identify areas requiring optimisation or improvement.
• Provide strategic financial advice and in-depth analyses.
• Ensure financial practices adhere to legislation and policies, advocating for best practices in financial management and system usage.

Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability:

• Deep expertise in financial systems, with a strong focus on SAP, Excel, and Power BI.
• Proven ability to mine, manipulate, and analyse financial data, transforming it into actionable insights.
• Experience in designing and automating complex financial reports, demonstrating proficiency in various reporting tools and platforms.
• Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to work on detailed data analysis and system integration tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information and collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and conditions:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar is highly desirable.
• Systems accounting experience, including SAP, is desirable.
• Professional accountancy qualifications (e.g., CPA, CAANZ membership) highly regarded.
