Victoria Police's Information, Communications, and Digital Technology Division is creating high-performance teams that will deliver technology solutions to our organisation's more than 22,000 people state-wide.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Modern Workplace team providing better products and services to enable mobility and flexibility for our members to work from anywhere and anytime. Your role will involve modernizing the end-to-end lifecycle of applications and services that are critical to the organisation's success.

You will leverage your technical experience in End User Computing (EUC) to provide third-level support across desktop and endpoint computing hardware and software environments. You will work with Microsoft's Modern Management suite, including Endpoint Manager, Intune, Autopilot, and Desktop Analytics, to ensure that the organisation's applications and services are up-to-date, secure, and optimized for performance.

Your responsibilities will include modernising SOE Image and Application Packaging services, solutions, and supporting project work using Intune, SCCM, MSI, MSIX, APP-V MDT, and other tools. You will also leverage best practices to deliver efficient end-user services and advanced desktop support issues.

Your strong skills in desktop optimisation, endpoint management, and asset lifecycle management will be critical to ensuring that the organization's applications and services are always available, secure, and optimized for performance.

Your duties will include:

• Lead planning and coordination of complex application packaging and deployments using modern application delivery such as MSIX and App-V
• Manage and maintain lifecycle of Windows SOE and Applications
• Create and maintain a contemporary Modern Workplace environment to enable and improve End User experience
• Create, maintain, and optimise Group policies for desktop and VDI environments
• Plan and facilitate patching for security and version releases
• Maintain, lifecycle and optimisation of our End User assets, endpoints and mobile device management systems, operating system images (SOE/MOE), configuration items
• Maintain an accurate catalogue of End User Computing components
• Provide 3rd level application and system support
• Manage and maintain the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and Intune environment

As the successful applicant, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience with strong technical capability in End User Computing
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft platforms to design, build, and configure
• Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining solution design and as-built documents
• Integration experience with Microsoft AD, Group Policy Management and security models to configure application interaction and application control
• Demonstrated experience with SCCM/Config Manager, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot
• Client and application virtualisation technologies and PowerShell scripting
• Experience in SCCM, SOE development, Application Packaging and Deployment and Modern Desktop and Application management
• Extensive experience supporting a Windows desktop enterprise environment
• Experience managing MacOS with JAMF Pro is desirable
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to engineer technical solutions and drive internal technical change
• Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service
• Microsoft and ITIL certifications are highly regarded

Requirements and relevant information:

• One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
• This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
• The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
• The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
